Why I write here

Most web apps I use feel rushed. Slow loads. Janky animations. UI that works but doesn't delight. That's a solvable problem — and I've spent most of my career obsessed with solving it.

How pages are structured. How animations feel. How tiny details add up to something beautiful. The whole stack, not just one layer: rendering, metrics, interactions, typography, the tools, the taste.

performance.dev is where I write about all of that. Essays, not a course (yet). If a piece of writing here saves you a week of debugging or makes one of your users smile, it did its job.

This site itself is built using everything I write about. Cloudflare Workers for the entire backend. Static HTML served from the edge for pages like this one — zero React runtime here. A SPA only where interactivity earns the bytes.
